Hello art friends!
It doesn’t seem to matter where you look, AI is everywhere at the moment - and let’s face it, it’s unlikely to go away. Whilst I am still a bit skeptical about using image generators, I have been investigating text AI ‘language models’ such as ChatGTP, because well, if you can’t beat them you may as well get them working for you, right!?
So the big question is, how can artists use AI to help us?
I understand that the idea of using AI such as ChatGTP can be a bit intimidating. The thought of technology taking over any part of your creative process might raise concerns about the authenticity of your artistic expression. But as long as you have integrity, AI tools can be incredibly useful and supportive in your artistic practice. I have found that once I learnt how to ‘train’ the bot and use it as a sounding board, (rather than expecting it to come up with content that I would use word-for-word) I have come up with genuinely interesting ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of before.
A lot of artists worry that AI will take over, and take away our jobs. But when you think about it like a free personal assistant that you don’t need to pay or make polite small talk with, you really start to see the appeal. So today I’m going to share how to get the bots to work for you, not against you!
